‘Congratulation Finalist’ letters have been arriving in the post like the legend of buses, nothing for the year to date, then three all at once. So far we shortlisted for:
Pride in Our Carers award – Carer Friendly Employer of the Year, award ceremony 13 June
All Party Corporate Responsibility Group, national award and can only be nominated by your MP, award ceremony now is autumn due to election
Bedfordshire Business Awards – Community Business of the Year, black tie ceremony 12th July
As lovely as it is to be shortlisted the best bit about all three of these awards is it recognises the whole team here at Marbrook. Initiatives like the Carers café wouldn’t be half as successful as they are, if it wasn’t for the warmth of the ‘good morning’ our receptionists greet everyone with, the pristine white table cloths adorned with freshly baked cakes and pastries, our clinical and therapy teams ‘dropping in’ to chat with carers over a shared cup of tea and our IT department on hand when a laptop presentation won’t work.
A lot of these individuals can be unsung heroes in a busy rehabilitation centre like ours, so it’s great that their individual and collective efforts have been recognised so many times.
