Why not pop over to see us as we are joining in the National Care Home Open Day (#CHOD2016) this year? Although our doors are always open for visitors, including children and well behaved pets (or should that be pets and well behaved children?), Friday 17th June makes it really easy to walk through the door and say hello. Come and see our rehabilitation gym, look at what good dementia specific design looks like, get to feel what the Marbrook Centre is like to live and work in. Get the opportunity to meet some of the clinical team over a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake. Hear what motivates them and get the chance to understand our care ethos here.

One person who will be visiting us on Friday 17th is Jonathon Djanogly our local MP. Jonathon is a keen supporter of our local hospitals, so with this insight, it will be really interesting to hear his thoughts as he tours the building and gets the opportunity to talk to residents and the care team.

Would you like to join the team?

Now the initial staff team have completed their induction training and are enjoying working with our first wave of residents, we are starting a new round of recruitment. There are opportunities for a Rehab Coach and a Dementia Care Worker, as well as some clinical and support staff positions. As before we only want the best, people who really care and want to benefit from first class training. To find out more check out the Recruitment page or follow us via Twitter and Facebook.

The Marbrook ‘road tour’

David Whitten (Therapy Lead) and Robert Myers (Head of Care Pathways) have successfully completed the ‘how do you build the exhibition stand?’ training and where sent off to Birmingham and then Nottingham to represent the Marbrook team at two conferences this month (the APIL and Somek annual conferences). These where two busy days chatting to the legal case managers attending and sharing how we can make a real difference for those who have experienced a life changing incident. But you haven’t missed your chance to meet the pair of them, as we are now sending them back to Birmingham to attend the Bush & Co Rehab Conference on Monday 13th June and the APIL Advanced Brain & Spinal Injury Conference in Hinckley.

So with two conferences and our open day, there are lots of opportunities to find out more about us and possibly become a part of the team.
