This month we are really ‘buzzing’ with excitement here at The Marbrook Centre.

Because we are now ‘real’.

Our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors visited in March, chatted to the clinical team, toured our fabulous new centre and checked all our procedures and paperwork. The result was a very positive ‘pass’ and some really nice feedback from the inspection team on our care aims, training standards and the level of detail of the actual building. They also picked up on some of the ‘softer’, but in many ways, really key things which brings a service to life; like the ‘air of positivity’ you feel as you walk in and the enthusiasm from the staff.

We now have a firm opening date of 11th April. This means we are now able to accept referrals for the first wave of ‘beds’ for both our neurological rehabilitation and specialist dementia services.

Our new team all meet each other for the first time after Easter, as we all work through our two week induction training programme together. We may all have different backgrounds, formal qualifications, personal experiences and personalities, but we come together with a single aim; to make a real difference to the quality of life for those people The Marbrook Centre is designed to support.

Well done to all who made it through the interview process, we only choose the very best people. We are all in for a very full two weeks. For those who want to keep up with the very latest news and photos, and to see the team as we come together, please follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

Another fun experience this month was the visit from Gainsborough Specialist Bathing’s media crew, after they chose The Marbrook Centre for a photo shoot. For those of you that thought the photographer at your wedding was exacting, you should have been their poor bathing model, who sat for hours in, near or being transferred to or from, one of the three baths they chose for the shoot. They where a great team though and have put together a really interesting case study on us for their trade press. They where ‘blown away’ by the level of design detail saying “The Marbrook Centre is like no other care place we’ve ever seen”. Which is good, because we aim to be like no other!
