General Manager

Tracy: Professionally
I’m a qualified registered nurse, with a background of community and hospice nursing. I worked for many years as a hospice nurse and specialised in Palliative/End of Life care. I enjoyed working in palliative care and helped set up and run a community service for palliative/EOL patients in their own homes across Bedfordshire, this is when I took my first role in management. I was then promoted to Head of Clinical Services for the hospice. After working there for nearly 12 years I decided it was time for a new challenge, I then came to work at Marbrook, where I have been for the past 8 years.

Tracy: Personally
I come from Sunderland and moved to Bedford in 1996. I’m married, have a son, daughter and a grandson, who manage to keep me very busy. I enjoy running/keeping fit, and gardening. In the future. should I ever find the time, I would like to do garden design.

Therapy Assistant

Karolina: Professionally
My passion for helping people began before I moved to the UK. Back in my home country I worked as a receptionist/ personal trainer in a gym, where I supported clients recovering from different injuries such as car accidents, strokes, etc. This experience sparked my interest in health and rehabilitation.

In 2010 I moved to Northern Ireland and like many immigrants worked in different jobs to build a new life. By 2012 I began my first role in the community as a healthcare assistant. Since then, I have gained wide experience working in care homes, in the community, and in a psychiatric hospital, which taught me valuable lessons about resilience, patience, and understanding people’s needs.

In 2021 I joined The Marbrook Centre. Here I have continued to develop new skills and a deeper understanding of the human body. Helping others has always been at the heart of what I do, it gives me energy, motivation, and the drive to keep learning and growing, both at work and in my personal life.

Karolina: Personally
I believe in discipline more than motivation. As an athlete all my life, I know how important routine and discipline are for a healthy and balanced lifestyle. My mornings usually start with meditation, journaling, or other self-care practices (I like to try new things in that manner) , followed by a walk with my lovely dog, Roger. In the afternoons you will often find me in the gym or on the basketball court.

Even with a busy lifestyle, I always make time for family and friends. I am happiest at the beach, where I can watch and listen to the waves. Music also plays a big part in my life I enjoy many styles, from classical to light rock, but my favourites are house, trance, and R&B. Alternatively, I like podcasts. I do love Mel Robbins, The diary of a CEO, Andrew Huberman and some hometown podcasters. I love ending the day with a good book, especially a thriller or a romance story. And of course, I can never say no to a piece of dark chocolate!

On the other hand, I really dislike rainy days, especially when my feet get we (gives me chills even thinking about it!)

Most of all, I believe that kindness can change the world so let’s always be kind to one another.

I have worked in the health and social care sector for 16 years, and still enjoy hearing that I do not look old enough for that length of time! My career started as many others in this line of work do, as a domiciliary carer in the community. I then moved onto residential care services, followed by a 6yr stint in a mental health rehabilitation service. I joined team Marbrook in 2019 and have been fortunate enough to have 3 very different roles during my time here. I transferred into my current role of Business Support Manager in February 2025.

Emily: Personally
I’m an extroverted introvert – although most know me as a confident, loud and bubbly character, I can also be very solitary and do enjoy a quiet moment to myself to recharge. I am creative with absolutely zero artistic talent, and have found a love for scrapbooking and junk journaling, so yes, I always keep my receipts!

I met my wife at 17yrs old (working in the same care home) and after a brief time apart (9yrs!) we rekindled and married in 2023. Animals are our Achilles heel - we rescued 2 feral cats, named Winter and Aspen, from the wilderness whilst away for our wedding anniversary in 2024. We also have a domesticated cat, Chester, and 2 dogs, Rudy and Frankie.

I am the youngest of 3 sisters, and am a proud auntie to my niece and 3 nephews.

Over the 20 years we won 12 industry awards ranging from agency of the year to a gold at the MAA worldwide globe awards.

Having decided to relook at my work life balance I left London behind and took a role at Marbrook where I have now been for 8 years. Overseeing referrals enables me to use my years of experience in developing strong partnerships with both our ICB's and families alike, always striving to add value to people’s lives in any way I can.

I am very passionate about my job and love supporting staff to deliver high quality care for those who rely on us.

Lizzie: Personally
Outside of work I lead an active lifestyle where my mornings usually consist of an early visit to the gym and my evenings enjoying a walk around the village.

I have a massive fear of tight spaces... So, you will never catch me in the lift and I am not a fan of having to hang out the laundry (who is?!).

One thing about me is that I am a massive country music fan (Luke Combs/Morgan Wallen being my fav!) and one day wish to own a ranch where I can wear cowboy boots daily and own lots of highland cows!
